Setting up YourRealm together with a parent

Set aside a calm few minutes and let the person who will use the app lead. The aim is to make the first conversation feel familiar, not to complete a long checklist.

Start with their reason for trying it

Ask what they would like a hand with. It might be reading something on a screen, finding a phone setting, or working out which button to press. Begin with an everyday question that matters to them.

Open the invitation on their iPhone

Early access uses Apple TestFlight. Follow the invitation’s installation steps on the phone that will run YourRealm. If you also received a support-circle invitation, return to the original message and tap it again after installation.

Let them make the choices

Help explain a screen if needed, but let them decide who joins their circle and what they agree to share. Knowing where those choices live is more useful than having someone else rush through setup for them.

Try one real conversation

Open Rae and ask the question out loud. Give the app the permissions needed for the feature you are trying. Voice, camera, and screen sharing serve different purposes; you don’t need to demonstrate all of them in the first sitting.

Practice the next visit

Before finishing, return to the home screen together. Make sure they know how to open Rae again, check in, and ask for help. Ask them to show you the next step rather than remembering a list of instructions.

Leave room to come back

If something feels unclear, pause and try again later. A useful first experience is enough. The User Guide and Circle of Support Guide explain the two sides of staying connected, and support@yourrealm.com can help with getting started.
